After a few days in Sithonia, which we talked about here, the second part of the holiday was on Kassandra’s arm, in the charming resort of Kallithea.

We chose the Ammon Zeus Hotel, located on the beach in Kallithea. The most beautiful beach on Kassandra’s arm, in my opinion.

An entertainment program is organized every week, which includes karaoke, live Greek and international music. They also have free yoga once a week at 7 in the morning. The hotel is a 5-minute walk from the center of Kallithea. For 6 nights with half board, we paid 750 €. The reservation was made on Booking, through Bonusway, this way we received 4% of the amount back! Excellent hotel, very clean, good food, free sunbeds on the hotel’s beach, and very attentive to details. Dinner on the hotel’s terrace overlooking the sea, 10 plus !!!

At first glance, Kassandra seemed much more agitated than Sithonia, more crowded, even at the end of September.

Check out the best beaches and beach bars in Kassandra, Halkidiki:

Cabana Beach Bar

Located on Paliouri Beach, Cabana Beach Bar is one of the best options for young people in the Halkidiki area. The sea has a beautiful turquoise blue color, comfortable sunbeds with huge mattresses and pillows, and great food! Starting from September, for the first row sunbeds, a consumption of 20 € per person was required, starting with the second row, 15 €/person. In summer the prices are higher.

Elephant Beach & Bar

Elephant” is a new beach bar in Pefkochori. It is like a colorful oasis in the heart of the desert with an elegant and exotic colorful decor, with cactus, hand-colored masks, similar in style to those in Africa or Asia. With a drink from the bar, the sunbeds are free 🙂

Babewatch beach bar

Another great beach bar, situated on the west side of Kassandra’s arm, on Fourka beach.

Sunbeds are free with a drink from the bar. At 9 in the morning, we were the first on the beach, enjoying the peace and the sea view!

After the beach, we chose Takis tavern in Skala Fourkas resort for lunch.

INCREDIBLE! The restaurant’s terrace is perfectly placed in the first row overlooking the sea, decorated in Greek style with white and blue colors. Delicious food also.

Lime Beach Bar

The Lime Beach Bar, owned by White Suites Resort, is a specially designed bar with stylish and minimalist décor. Located in the beautiful resort of Afitos, which is synonymous with luxury, it truly embraces the local motto “A Way of Life”.

Here, you get unforgettable sunsets while enjoying a drink with Lounge music in the background.

Afitos

Afitos is a traditional village with stunning views over Toroneos Bay, as the village is built on a hill above the coast. Most houses are built of stone with superb architecture.

Small squares, cobbled streets, and traditional taverns create a landscape perfectly harmonized with the natural landscape. You can admire the unique architecture of St. Demetrius Church which was built in 1859 and is located in the central square, as well as the mansions and famous sculptures of Vassilis Pavlis.

In the center of the village, you will find the folk museum which hosts various art exhibitions, such as tools and utensils used in the past by the locals.

You are not allowed to enter the historic center by car, so you will have to park it on the adjacent streets.

Sani

I left what’s best at the end 😀

I’ve read very little about Sani before we arrived in Greece, so we were very surprised when we got here.

Sani is not a modern town or village, it is a very large resort with a luxurious landscape that stretches on fragrant pine forests, golden sands, and clear waters. At about 1000 acres, Sani Resort hosts five 5-star hotels with multiple awards, recognized in the world by top travel organizations. 17 restaurants, several beautiful beaches, mountain trails, a 250-acre nature reserve, and a small circular harbor 200 meters in diameter.

Overlooking Mount Olympus, Sani is ideally located for exploring the beautiful Halkidiki region and surrounding areas.

Simply put: Monte Carlo of Greece!

We were so impressed with Sani that we went 3 more times that week. It gave the impression that you were in a 5-star resort in Switzerland, where there was no imperfection in front of your eyes.

Completely another world, a resort where you could stay for a week and have everything at your disposal: beautiful beaches with fine sand, many local and international restaurants, summer garden for live shows, open-air cinema, bicycle rental, church, harbor, luxury brand stores, pharmacy, supermarkets, all built-in luxury style.

Dinner at one of the resort’s restaurants was well above the other taverns in Kassandra. If in Kallithea a Greek salad was 7 €, here it was 13 €.

Thessaloniki

The mini trip to Thessaloniki was something spontaneous, I think we were bored of so much sea, beach, and peace :))

From Kallithea, we arrived in Thessaloniki in about an hour by car. Thessaloniki is an extremely crowded city, always under construction and very hectic, especially during the week.

The trip was short, we parked in an underground parking lot, or, to rectify, a boy who guided us in the parking lot, parked our car (rented), because all the cars were parked millimeters from one another. I’ve never seen anything like it anywhere. We took one picture of the city center:

And then we decided to go back to the resort. We didn’t like Thessaloniki :(

Kassandra pros and cons:

  • Affordable prices at taverns, impeccable service anywhere
  • Hotel Ammon Zeus deserves a 10 for facilities and location
  • Sani resort is something unique, it really surprised us
  • Kassandra is close to Thessaloniki airport. So if you come by plane, it’s about an hour’s drive on the motorway
  • Kassandra’s arm is much busier than Sithonia, that’s both good and bad, it depends on each person
  • the beaches in Sithonia seemed more beautiful, the sand finer, more isolated and well-organized coves
  • on some undeveloped beaches in Kassandra, there were piles of garbage on the beach or near the beach

However, Halkidiki is an excellent option for a trip to Greece. In September the prices are better, the sun is milder, more peace and cleanliness!

Have an amazing day!
